I really should update this more often than I do, but with school taking up most of my time its hard to even update my Facebook. I did want to show you a model I had to work on for class. I made a zombie bunker in Google Sketchup.
Google Sketchup is a great resource for making 3d models and simple 3D drafting. I have used it before for other project, including ones that eventually we made. It works based on drawing lines that connect to other line and so on. basically draw a floor plan and then you can just pull the floor plan up in to walls. I would suggest it to anyone that wants to give 3D drawing a try.
I have also been learning a lot of new things in Java. That class is really turning into something fun. Now I wont be writing anything real complex as of yet but very soon I will hold the power to create useful applications in java, and who knows one day I may create the next hit success like Minecraft. If you have not tried Minecraft yet i suggest you go out and purchase it right now, unless you like seeing real sunlight, then i suggest you ignore everything I am about to say. Minecraft has become and overnight success, and the game has not even left its alpha stage. The game starts you out on an island with nothing, no manual, no help, your alone that is till night falls. Suddenly zombies, skeletons, spiders, skeletons riding spiders and an exploding creature called a creeper and they are all out to kill you. Your goal before the end of the first day is to hole up somewhere safe before night falls. Then you mine, mine and mine some more all the while lighting your tunnels so the creatures from the surface don’t spawn from within. Eventually you will make a sword and some armor and kill these creatures, a few days down the road. The creatures on the surface will catch on fire in the morning and the day will be safe for you to go explore again. Now this may not seem all that fun, but the real fun comes when you start to build you empire block by pixelated block. Nothing feels quite as good as looking down from the castle you built and sniping the roaming zombies with you hand crafted bow and arrows.
Looks like things are changing quickly over the next few weeks. Starting the end of next week I will be moving in with ZB after a year and half of living over an hour apart. With this move our relationship will be moving to a new level of in your face closeness, and I hope it all works out. We have been trying to get to this stage for some time but due to the economy it was hard for me to find a new job to relocate closer to her. It took some doing but now I will be attending Linn Benton Community College (LBCC) starting in the spring. Classes start on March 29th which is two days after I get back from China.
On the note of China, I will be leaving on a trip for two weeks starting on 15th of March and will return on the 26th. I cannot wait to see all the wonders of the Eastern World. My trip will take me to Beijing, Xi’an, Shanghai and back to Beijing again before returning back to the states. During my stay I will be visiting the Great Wall, Terracotta Soldiers, Tienanmen square, and the Forbidden City, plus many other attractions. We will be with a tour group for most of the trip but will have a few days here and there to wander the streets shopping on our own. It should be lots of fun and a learning experience.
With School starting I have a lots of work to get done in a short period of time. I need to get registered for my classes on the 5th or 6th or 8th or 9th, can’t really tell what day I am suppose to do it on between all the information on the school website and the information the admissions office gave me. I will also need to pay out of pocket for all my classes and books for the first few weeks. This may leave me short on money for awhile depending on how it turns out. I will be taking math 95 again since I have been out of school since 2005 and just need to get refreshed on how it all works again. Last time I took this class I actually understood the material real well and had no problems with the class so it should all just come back to me during this time around. Personally I am looking forward to getting back in school but a little scared about not being able to make the grade. Its funny how later on in life you realize “Damn I should have done all this when I was fresh out of high school” but when you are just out of high school you just want to go party and get on with your life. Now ten years later I am heading back to school so I can make something of myself finally and get a career instead of being the bottom rung person at any job I go to work for and have to work my way up slowly. With a few degrees under my belt my career should take off. Well at least that’s the wishful thinking I am doing.
So I am starting to diet again. This time around I am going to use a few different techniques. First I am doing portion control, less food each meal. Second I have replaced all forms of liquid with water. Third I am exercising every day. And last I am trying Alli fat blocker. This stuff is FDA approved. So I M hoping for some good results soon.
My site has just been overhauled to WordPress. WordPress is much faster than the dated copy of MovableType that was on site before. The customization of plugins and widgets is a lot smoother with the built in plugin search tool. The whole dashboard is a lot quicker and more intuitive to use.
